John Clough, Geophysics Associate
John has over twenty years experience in geophysical interpretation and fieldwork. His experience includes seismic interpretation in all tectonic styles and regions worldwide as well as in potential, electrical, and other non-seismic methods. John is also experienced in technical training for seismic processing and has been Project Manager for scientific and technical projects in private and public sector. John received a PhD in Geophysics in 1974 and began his career at the University of Nebraska as the Director of the Ross Ice Shelf Project and as an Assistant Professor in Geophysics.
He later taught geophysics at North Carolina State where he also consulted on seismic refraction surveys and magnetic surveys. His exploration experience began at Marathon Oil Company in 1981 where he was a Senior Geophysicist in Casper, Wyoming. John was responsible for interpretation projects offshore California, Washington, Oregon, Northern California, and the Rocky Mountains. John later worked on international projects in South America including seismic, gravity, and magnetic interpretations in Argentina, Bolivia, and Venezuela.
In addition, John has been responsible for interpretation projects in Indonesia and Australia. John also has domestic experience in ANWR and the Gulf of Mexico. In 1994, John became Project Manager for Geophex, LTD in Los Alamos where he managed the geophysical investigations at Environmental Restoration sites. Later he joined Veritas where he administered technical training for the seismic processing departments.
