Sidney Moran, Economics Associates
Sid’s career began with Shell Oil Company in Midland Texas where he spent fourteen years exploring in the Permian Basin. Sid’s talent and insight into economic analysis led him to a respected career in Shell Domestic and International Venture analysis group where he was responsible for the analysis of both exploration and development opportunities. After thirty-three years with Shell, Sid retired and embarked on a successful consulting career. Since 1988, Sid has consulted for major (Shell, Unocal, Texaco and Enron) and large independent energy companies on international ventures. He teaches courses and lectures on international and domestic venture analysis and risk management at the Hedberg Conference, the Association of International Contract Negotiators, and various university, corporate, and professional society groups. He wrote the chapter on “Analysis of International Oil and Gas Ventures” for AAPG volume “The Business of Exploration”.
Sid has also been highly successful in evaluating and acquiring domestic producing properties and royalties for investor groups.
